2007 Pacific Urban Art Competition 18 September 2007
The Fiji Good Local Governance Campaign invites entries for the 2007 Pacific Urban Art Competition. The competition is open to all forms of artwork including painting, drawing, computer graphics, photography and sculpture.

The theme of the competition is Realising Urban Futures and is intended to encourage participants to explore new ideas and opportunities for the future of cities and towns in Fiji. The Competition and resulting artwork will help to highlight the importance of local government as the emerging leaders responsible for managing urban growth and the need for strengthening partnerships at all levels.

The Competition promotes art as a valuable way of developing a language of exchange that can be used to promote reflection and advance dialogue among stakeholders. It also acknowledges the important role art can play in enhancing urban vitality and sustainable development. Participating in the art competition gives individuals and groups the opportunity to reflect on how they use their own city or town environments and how they can get involved.

The Fifi Good Local Governance Campaign aims to improve local service delivery through promoting participatory and inclusive urban governance and democracy and is supported by the CLGF Pacific Regional Capacity Building

Prizes range from F$100 to F$1500.
